Everybody knows that crime is out of control in our country – especially in Democrat-run areas where there are soft-on-crime policies. Now, America just learned of its new ‘murder capital’ – and the location may shock you.
St. Louis no longer holds the title “Murder Capitol of America.”
According to FOX News, When compared with recent years, New Orleans has seen a 141% increase in homicides over St. Louis, making it the murder capital of America.
As of Sept. 11, there were 52 homicides per 100,000 residents, according to the Metropolitan Crime Commission, an organization that tracks crime and tries to reduce it.
According to the St. Louis Police Department, there were almost 45 homicides per 100,000 residents as of Sept. 17.
For reference, New York City has 3.5 homicides per 100,000 residents, while Chicago has almost 18 homicides per 100,000.
In New Orleans, homicides are up 141% over 2019 and 78% over 2021, according to data that states there have been 205 homicides since the beginning of 2022 until Sept. 11. The city has also seen a 100% increase in shootings in 2022 when compared to 2019.
According to the New York Post, 212 police officers should be deployed from their current posts into patrol duties, according to Fausto Pichardo, the former head of the New York City Police Department’s patrol division hired by New Orleans to combat escalating crime.
Here’s how Twitter world reacted to the data coming out of New Orleans.
One person wrote, “Another Democratic Party controlled city that I won’t be visiting. How many ways can Democrats destroy America? Crime is a big one.“
Another said, “Progressives in top city leadership positions have helped transform New Orleans into the murder capital of America. ”
And this person tweeted, “A lot of people blame the pandemic for rising crime, but the pandemic is over and high rates of crime remain. It’s obvious that the cause is the delegitimization and demoralization of police and the resulting emboldening of criminals.”
One major step in fixing the crime issues is to REfund the police – not defund them – and provide them with one of the most valuable resources there are in a community – respect. Another big step would be to unseat all of the Democrat leaders and elect more Republicans into office because they support our men and women in blue.
