Remember when the liberal media was terrified of what Trump would declassify and they went on and on about how broad the President’s powers are to declassify? Yes, we remember that too. Now the liberal media is attempting to force a narrative that the President cannot declassify documents, and shifty Schiff is out spreading that message.
Washington Examiner writes. Adam Schiff said former President Donald Trump was more dangerous than previously thought if he truly believed a president could declassify documents just by thinking about them.
A constant critic of the 45th president, the congressman responded to comments Trump made during a recent interview regarding the raid of his Mar-a-Lago resort, in which FBI agents sought documents he retained there after leaving office. Prosecutors say roughly 100 of those records were marked as classified, including some labeled top secret, but Trump claims he has declassified all the documents in his possession.
Trump stated that he declassified the documents that were present in Mar-A-Lago, and that no rules were broken.
Politico reports. Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had declassified the documents he took with him to Mar-a-Lago, which have since been investigated by the Justice Department.
During an interview with Fox News’ “Hannity,” Trump declined to provide specific evidence of the declassification. In a pre-recorded interview, he told Sean Hannity that evidence was not required.
Trump stated “There doesn’t have to be a process, as I understand it, You’re the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying it’s declassified, even by thinking about it.”
Pressed further, Trump insisted he had declassified the documents in question when he left the White House.
Schiff was silent on the 30,000 emails Hillary Clinton had on a private server, Schiff was also silent when Clinton had her aides destroy their phones with hammers. Now Schiff wants Trump to be held accountable. The double standard that the left is putting out is plain insanity.
