A panel of OPEC+ energy ministers agreed on Wednesday to recommend a historically large cut in oil production, a stinging rebuke to the Biden administration that will likely raise gas prices.
According to Breitbart, in Vienna, the Saudi Arabian-led alliance, which includes Russia, is negotiating the biggest production cut since the pandemic began.
The Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee of the cartel recommended reducing the group’s overall production by two million barrels per day.
According to reports, the Biden administration is trying to convince the Saudis not to cut production.
According to the administration, higher prices will benefit Russia, hurt U.S. allies in Europe, and hurt U.S. consumers.
However, as a result of the Biden administration’s energy policies and the large amount of American debt held by OPEC member nations, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) argued on Fox News @ Night that the United States has no leverage with OPEC to avoid cutting production on Tuesday’s broadcast.
And on Twitter, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert wrote, “OPEC is now considering cutting oil production. If we were still energy independent, we wouldn’t have to worry. Thanks to Biden’s awful energy policies this could negatively impact us in a huge way.”
