Despite long teasing a presidential run, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will not run in 2024.
According to the Daily Wire, in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Johnson said he made the decision so he could spend more time with his family. As a politician, Johnson acknowledged that his children would have to spend more time away from home during their formative years.
The Rock has teased possibly running for president as far back as 2016.
“Cool piece on why I should run for President. Maybe one day. Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck,” Johnson joked in 2016 as he hinted at a future run.
As noted by CNN, according to a poll from 2021, 58% of Americans wanted Johnson to be the next president. The same poll showed 58% of respondents supporting McConaughey.
The Rock endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and VP back in 2020, however, has voted for candidates of both political parties.
