It’s hard to believe, but Rhode Island may elect its first Republican in Congress this year. Believe it or not, the race is tight and there’s a good chance the seat could switch parties. This would be a huge upset, as the district has been staunchly Democratic for 30 years. If the Republicans can pull off this win, it could signal a major change in the political landscape of Rhode Island.

Town hall reports. In the November midterms, Rhode Island may elect its first Republican to the House since 1992 as part of the likely incoming red wave. As soon as Allan Fung announced his candidacy in February, he generated buzz. As mayor of Cranston, which is 15 percent of Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District, Fung also ran for governor against former governor Gina Raimondo in 2014 and 2018. Last month, he ran unopposed in the primary.

According to a poll conducted by The Boston Globe/Suffolk University, Fung has 45 percent of the vote to Magaziner’s 37 percent. A total of 13 percent are undecided, while 5 percent support William Gilbert. In addition, Fung has a double digit lead among Independents, 57 percent to 21 percent.

This news comes following Senator Rick Scott’s predictions.

Next news Network reported. Senator Rick Scott said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Republicans will “absolutely” win control of the Senate in November’s midterm elections.

NBC Anchor Chuck Todd said, “We are 37 days away from election day. Another part of your job is Senate Republicans trying to get them to win the Senate. Do you believe Republicans are on track to get control of the Senate?”

Lets See his reply.
