It’s not every day that a major figure within a party abandons ship and decides to campaign against their old party. But that’s exactly what Tulsi Gabbard did when she showed up on the campaign trail for Arizona Republican Kari Lake. Though Gabbard has certainly faced her share of controversy, there’s no denying that her presence could help pull Democratic votes away from Katie Hobbs, who aligned with the increasingly extreme left wing of the party. And while Gabbard may have her faults, her decision to leave the Democratic Party and stand with Lake shows she’s willing to put aside party politics for the greater good – something that is sorely lacking in our current political climate. It’s a surprising move, but one that could ultimately pay off for Lake come election time.
