According to MSNBC host Katy Tur, Pennsylvania senator-elect John Fetterman could run for president in the future.
FOX News reports, as a result of Fetterman’s victory over Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz on Tuesday, several MSNBC panelists praised him for bringing new leadership tactics to the Democratic Party.
As Tur suggested, “Fetterman could be a contender for president at some point,” before later discussing how he’s exceeded President Biden’s and former President Trump’s vote share in the state.
Fetterman’s win in Pennsylvania Tuesday night was surprising, considering he constantly struggled to articulate his positions, often used the wrong words, and had trouble comprehending audio on the campaign trail due to having a stroke earlier this year.
As such, Twitter users mocked MSNBC’s Katy Tur for even suggesting Fetterman should run for higher office.
One Twitter user commented, “Why not? Competence is not a requirement for the left.”
Another said, “Lord please have a Biden fetterman debate . I would pay to be front row”
And another person tweeted, “The fact that no one laughed out loud when she said that is commendable.”
The hunt for potential presidential candidates in 2024 has already begun, but we need to prioritize strong, competent leaders over hastily-made choices like MSNBC’s Katy Tur’s suggestion of John Fetterman. Fetterman is unable to articulate his positions and struggles with basic comprehension issues due to a recent stroke. This is not the kind of leader we need in the White House. We must choose someone who can confidently and effectively represent our country at home and abroad. It’s time to put aside superficial eccentricities and select a true leader for the 2024 election. The media may be pushing for Fetterman, but we deserve better than a potentially incapacitated president. Let’s focus on finding capable individuals who are ready to serve on day one.
