As a result of Joe Biden’s border crisis, El Paso, Texas has spent millions of dollars on illegal border crossers. That’s taxpayer money. It makes you wonder whether El Paso residents plan to sue Biden. This could have been avoided, but Biden refuses to protect the southern border.
According to the Washington Examiner, This year, El Paso has spent just under $10 million on responding to the border crisis and providing aid to immigrants.
According to El Paso’s Migrant Situational Awareness Dashboard website, as of Dec. 22, the city had spent $9.87 million housing, feeding, and busing immigrants who crossed the border illegally and were released by federal law enforcement into the U.S.
According to the dashboard, the city spent $4.5 million between October 1 and December 22. During the previous three months, the organization spent $5.13 million, much more than the nearly $240,000 spent between January and June.
Increasing spending correlates with an increase in immigrants arrested illegally entering the country in the El Paso region, only to be released from federal custody and released into the city.
One El Paso resident recently tweeted a video of the migrants wandering the streets of the city.
In addition to the video, the resident added on Twitter, “This is a video from yesterday in El Paso. All illegals wandering the streets of my city. This is a complete invasion. Just know they’re coming to a town near you, too.”
The El Paso Sector of Border Patrol apprehended more than 53,000 immigrants in West Texas and New Mexico in November. November’s number is double the more than 26,000 in June, and it is ten times higher than the 5,000 apprehended in November 2019, according data by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The residents of El Paso are outraged and rightfully so to find out that their hard earned tax dollars are being used for unregulated immigration into the United States. This border crisis is a result of Joe Biden’s border policies and his ignorance towards border security. As a direct consequence, this year alone El Paso has already spent close to $10 million on illegal border crossers, an expenditure which should have been deducted from other federal government resources. It is time for the El Paso residents to take action. An organized protest including legal action against the federal government using the law could be one way out if a solution isn’t provided soon. The government’s lackadaisical approach towards border security has resulted in this financial mess that ultimately falls back on the taxpayers, something they must not stand for.
