It seems that Mayor Eric Adams has taken a page out of President Biden’s book, as he made the same decision to flee from New York City as it braced for a severe winter storm.
Just like Biden fled to sunny St. Croix to avoid the cold and snow, Mayor Adams decided to follow suit, leaving his constituents and residents of NYC to fend for themselves in what could turn out to be a blizzard of epic proportions. All hail those in charge, who can bravely make the decision to escape the looming precipitation – or hide away in their second home until everything passes over.
According to the NY Post, The New York City mayor admitted Tuesday that he took a secret two-day vacation to the US Virgin Islands last week, while parts of the city were flooded by a “once-in-a-generation” winter storm.
As the worst of the weather hit NYC last Thursday and Friday, Adams told reporters he was in the US Virgin Islands. Adams added that he needed some “private time.”
As the approaching winter storm threatened cold temperatures, slick roads, strong winds, and power outages, Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for the Empire State last week.
In spite of this, New York City’s mayor felt he needed to escape the major metropolitan area before the disaster struck.
Twitter users reacted to Adams’ trip, with one person commenting, “Typically hypocritical Politician.”
And another added, “When the going gets tough, I’m out!”
Birds of a feather flock together, and it appears that Mayor Eric Adams followed in President Biden’s footsteps by abandoning his city during a state of emergency. As New York City around him was being flooded by the winter storm, he instead opted to take a secret two-day vacation to the US Virgin Islands last week. Despite Governor Kathy Hochul declaring a state of emergency, Mayor Adams chose to put his needs before those of his constituents, making his actions shameful and unacceptable.
