Newt Gingrich slammed the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for “unprecedented” levels of corruption.
The former House Speaker criticized the agencies for the handling of the Hunter Biden investigation and probes into the alleged mishandling of classified information by President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
According to the Washington Examiner, Gingrich told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures: “We have in the Justice Department and the FBI a level of corruption unprecedented in American history at the most senior levels.”
Republicans have promised to investigate Biden’s classified documents case, with Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) saying last week they will oversee the Trump and Biden document probes as part of their “constitutional responsibility to oversee the Justice Department.”
The Justice Department seized six more classified items from Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home over the weekend, one week after the White House announced that the document search was “complete.”
Newt Gingrich has long been a vocal critic of the Justice Department and FBI for their corruption. His recent criticism comes in light of the current scandal involving President Biden, which proves that accountability is sorely lacking from certain institutions. Such continued partisan favoritism is a disgrace, as it undermines faith in justice and equality under the law. In order to restore trust among Americans, there must be equal treatment and accountability within the federal agencies. If nothing is done, then the corruption will only worsen and irreparable damage will be done to justice in this country.
