According to NBC, 71% of Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
On Sunday, Chuck Todd of NBC’s “Meet the Press” said that more than two-thirds of Americans used negative words or phrases to describe where the country is headed.
Overall, the poll found that 45% of adults approve of Biden’s job performance, while 50% disapprove.
NBC further notes that Biden’s presidential attributes are perhaps the most troubling in the poll. 45% of adults give Biden a positive score for being easy going and likable, and 42% rate him as knowledgeable and experienced enough to handle the presidency.
However, the lowest marks Biden receives have to do with his honesty and trustworthiness (34%), his ability to handle crises (32%), his competence and effectiveness as president (31%), and his ability to unite the country (23%).
According to the poll, many of these scores have declined since Biden took office.
Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who partially conducted this survey, said in a statement, “Since January 2021, Biden has dropped 17 points on uniting the country, 15 points on his ability to handle a crisis, 13 points on being knowledgeable and experienced enough to handle the presidency, and 9 points on being honest and trustworthy.”
The poll also found that an equal number of Americans — 67% — say they are as concerned about classified documents found at Biden’s residence and former office as they are about those found at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
These poll numbers paint an alarming picture, from which it is clear that President Joe Biden has failed to live up to the hopes and ambitions of his own voters. His job performance ratings are dismal and his abilities to handle crises, lead effectively and unite the country have plummeted since his election. It is no wonder that 71% of people say America is heading in the wrong direction with Joe as president. Given these results, it appears increasingly clear that Joe has got to go if America is ever to turn things around.
