Joe Biden was recently booed by fans at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game.
In the aftermath of Lebron James breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 point scoring record, the incident occurred.
As soon as Biden’s face appeared on the jumbotron to congratulate Lebron, the Lakers crowd began booing him. The crowd booing Biden was especially fascinating, considering California is a democrat state.
To make sure it was heard by people outside of the booing arena, Biden posted his message congratulating LeBron James on breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record to Twitter for all to see.
Not everybody was celebrating Lebron’s achievement, however.
Following his success as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, fellow NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom fired a jab at him on Twitter.
Freedom wrote on Twitter, “38,388 Points, 0 Morals, 0 Values, 0 Principles, 0 Empathy, 1 bow down to China. Congratulations to @KingJames.”
Freedom, an 11-year NBA veteran, has spoken out against authoritarian regimes and disapproved of both the NBA’s and James’ silence on China’s human rights violations.
Lebron’s scoring achievement may have made history in the NBA world, but as Enes Kanter Freedom pointed out, his bowing down to China and not speaking out against authoritarian regimes shows his character in the real world to be cowardice and un-American.
