During President Donald Trump’s administration, Ivanka and Jared Kushner served as advisors to him, but have recently been taking time out to focus on family and private matters. While the two are still at work, a recent event in their son’s life prompted them to rush from the office to his side.

It was revealed by former First Daughter Ivanka Trump that her son, Theo, had been recently rushed to the hospital. As if things weren’t bad enough, Ivanka Trump said she was “an hour away” when she received the call from his school.

On Instagram alongside a picture of her son in the hospital, Trump posted, “This week I received a call from the school nurse that every parent dreads. My 6-year-old son Theo broke his wrist while playing soccer. Since I was over an hour’s drive away, an ambulance took Theo, accompanied by the school nurse, to the closest hospital. Jared and I raced to meet him, Jared arriving at the same time as the ambulance and me getting there a few minutes later.”

Her post continued, “It was a bad break, but the capable EMT, doctors, nurses, and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital staff cared for Theo tenderly and professionally. Theo’s visit culminated with two ice pops, which led to him declaring ‘this is the best day ever!’ The nurse turned to me and said, ‘This is why I’m in pediatrics! No adult in the emergency room has ever said something like that when given an ice pop.”

Trump concluded with, “Jared and I are so grateful to the doctors, nurses, EMTs, and hospital staff who cared for our son. With gratitude in our hearts, we have made a donation to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.”

It is stressful for any parent when their child suffers an injury; it is even more stressful when the parent is an hour away from their child when that injury occurs. Fortunately, Ivanka’s son Theo’s injuries have been treated, but it still serves as a reminder that family comes first and spending time together is most important. This event has sadly created more stress for Ivanka and her family after the passing of her mother last year; nevertheless, we can only hope the family will be able to take it easy and look out for one another during this difficult time. God bless the Trump family today and always.
