Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA player and anti-CCP activist, said that he may run for Congress someday.
During an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, Kanter Freedom said that his passion is advocating for the “millions of people in concentration camps” in communist China who are “getting tortured and raped every day.”
When asked by Bartiromo if he had “any interest in running for public office,” Kanter Freedom responded, “I actually do.”
And, when asked if he was in the process of making plans to run for office, Kanter Freedom responded, “Yes.”
Kanter Freedom, who was raised in Turkey, has been a vocal critic of both the Turkish and Chinese governments. In particular, he has criticized the NBA’s relationship with China for the country’s detention and abuse of millions of Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities, which has been declared as genocide by the Biden administration.
In 2021, the former NBA player became a U.S. citizen and officially changed his name to Enes Kanter Freedom in celebration of his American citizenship.
Enes Kanter Freedom is an amazing example of an American patriot. Instead of staying in the China-loving NBA and making millions of dollars, he has spoken out against the CCP and continues to denounce the country’s sick humanitarian crimes. As an outspoken critic of the Chinese and Turkish governments, he already has genuine intentions when it comes to outlining his plans to run for Congress one day. His passion for freedom is made even more evident by the fact that he legally changed his last name to Freedom upon becoming a U.S. citizen – an amazing show of loyalty and commitment from one now fighting for the oppressed all around the world.
