Disney has caved yet again to the woke mob as yet another treasured childhood movie classic is getting a fresh makeover, with lots of woke changes.
In teasers and trailers, it is clear that Disney plans to level their liberal agenda upon much-loved classic stories, at the expense of artistic integrity. To appease the woke hordes and their politically correct ideas, classic tales are at risk of being ruined by modern forces who seem hellbent on turning our entertainment into propaganda.
Fox News reports, social media erupted after the first trailer of Disney’s “Peter Pan and Wendy” featured female Lost Boys.
In the preview of the latest live-action remake, the characters appear to reach the fabled Neverland in a similar way to the original JM Barrie story. Wendy (played by Ever Anderson) observed that the Lost Boys are not just boys when she met them.
Several social media users criticized Disney’s attempt to push inclusive politics through this change to the century-old original story.
Jeryl Bier tweeted “I mean…of course” to a screenshot of Wendy stating that all the lost boys are not in fact all boys.
Another Twitter user stated ”Looks terrible. Hook looks bad, Tinkerbell isn’t Tink and the Lost Boys became girls now?”
Erin tweeted “idc i WILL be streaming 😚 just need them to take the girls out of the lost boys though i’m so sorry i’m all for girl power but the whole point of the lost boys is that they’ve never seen a girl before”
Streaming platform Disney+ is set to release the movie on April 28.
Changing the 1953 animated classic Peter Pan was the latest in a long line of reboots and sequels, many from Disney, that have sought to update classic films with “woke” themes.
All of these reboots have undoubtedly contributed to Disney losing billions of dollars.
LA Times reports, according to Walt Disney Co chief executive Bob Iger, the Burbank company will shed 7,000 jobs in an effort to save $5.5 billion in costs, marking some of the steepest reductions in the company’s history.
The belt-tightening underscores the extraordinary difficulties Disney and other media giants face as they contend with the realities of streaming economics — which have proved more vexing than many anticipated — and the challenges Iger faces after replacing Bob Chapek as CEO.
As Disney continues to lose money from its streaming business, which includes Disney+, it faces pressure to cut costs and boost profits.
Bob Iger said in a statement “While this is necessary to address the challenges we’re facing today, I do not make this decision lightly, I have enormous respect and appreciation for the talent and dedication of our employees worldwide, and I’m mindful of the personal impact of these changes.”
The woke mob has infiltrated the live-action remake of Peter Pan. Fans were shocked and outraged to find that iconic characters had been replaced by members of the opposite gender, in an effort to serve a liberal agenda. This kind of woke nonsense is absurd, and it signals yet another case of a beloved classic falling casuality to woke Hollywood’s woke agenda. Rather than tamper with our childhood memories, we should focus on preserving them. Disney should know better than to attempt to force its woke politics onto future generations; let’s hope they don’t ruin any more good movies in this way.
