Ben Savage’s announcement that he is formally running for Congress in California has set off shockwaves of excitement through the Democratic camp.

His Instagram post hinted at his commitment to government transparency and equality, as well as accountability and public service, really winning people over with his common sense approach to government.

Daily wire reports, Ben Savage announced on Monday that he will run for the Senate in 2024 to replace Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA).

Savage said in a post to Instagram “Together, we can do better, I am a proud Californian, union member and longtime resident of District 30 who comes from a family of unwavering service to our country and community. I firmly believe in standing up for what is right, ensuring equality and expanding opportunities for all. I’m running for Congress because it’s time to restore faith in government by offering reasonable, innovative and compassionate solutions to our country’s most pressing issues,”

Savage filed papers to run as a Democrat in California’s 30th Congressional District, which extends from West Hollywood to Pasadena. Several other Democrats have entered the race, including California Assemblymember Laura Friedman, former Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, and Maebe A. Girl, who is seeking to become the first transgender, “non-binary” congresswoman.

While challengers are lining up for Schiff’s congressional seat, Schiff is looking good in polls for Diane Feinstein’s senate seat.

The hill reports, the race to replace retiring Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who announced her retirement earlier this month, saw Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) edge out Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.).

The University of California, Berkeley-Los Angeles Times poll found Schiff receiving 22 percent support, while Porter received 20 percent – a difference within the poll’s 2.5-point margin of error.

Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who launched her campaign earlier this week, polled at 6 percent, while Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), who is rumored to be considering a bid, polled at 4 percent.

In addition, the poll found that around 40 percent of voters were undecided on who they would support in the primary. The top two vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation, advance to the general election in California primaries.

In a primary battle that is falling along ideological fault lines in the party, Schiff and Porter, both lawmakers with national recognition, are showing early signs of tight competition. Race, gender, and identity are also seen as dividing the campaign in California.

Ben Savage’s announcement to challenge Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for the 2024 Congressional election was met with widespread approval and hope. His statement outlined a vision of an America which treats its citizens equally, is accountable, and offers reasonable solutions to national problems. Known for his professionalism and abilities as an actor, Savage has seemingly been repeatedly tapped by Americans all around the country to finally bring some semblance of accountability, trust, and respectability back into Congress. In a America sorely in need of visionary leaders with loyal constituents, many believe that Savage is the perfect person to do just that – the perfect “boy who meets the world” in order to make it great again.
