. Democrats may have a slim majority in Washington, but with their slew of nominee choices riled up by Joe Biden, they only seem to be insulting the American people. House Republicans have consistently held their own and more with these nominees, however one Democrat Senator has stood out the most. Joe Manchin, known for his moderation and independent streak, puts a roadblock on Biden’s plans, criticizing those nominations and throwing a wrench in the administration’s plans.
Joe Manchin has been one of the most vocal democrat critics of the Biden administration, and he’s not holding back when it comes to their nominees. Manchin recently announced his opposition to Gigi Sohn, President Joe Biden’s nominee to chair the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This is just the latest example of Manchin holding the administration’s feet to the fire. While some on the left may see this as obstructionism, Manchin is simply doing what he feels is best for his state and his constituents.
Daily Caller reports, before Sohn withdrew her nomination Tuesday, Manchin announced his opposition to Gigi Sohn, President Joe Biden’s nominee to chair the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). He also announced Wednesday his opposition to Werfel’s nomination to lead the Internal Revenue Service.
During an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “CNN This Morning,” Manchin told her what he told the Biden Administration.
The senator didn’t stop there, he continued on to discuss how he was planning to hold the administration accountable for the Biden Inflation Act.
In light of Dianne Feinstein’s and John Fetterman’s health issues, Manchin’s opposition is crucial. Sen. Mitch McConnell was hospitalized with a concussion after a fall Wednesday night.
Senator Manchin is certainly a force to be reckoned with. This is a man that has been pivotal in making sure the Biden administration does not completely destroy this country. And to hear him talk about him fighting for energy independence like that is quite refreshing, could he be saying it just for the cameras? There is a possibility of that, but for now let’s be grateful for his moderate stance at times, we will never agree with him a lot of the times but he is a wild card that sometimes works in our favor on key issues.
