The current level of spending is unconstitutional in its lack of accountability, not to mention a clear breach of trust with American taxpayers who demand a more responsible use of their hard-earned dollars.
Daily Wire reports, federal, state, and local taxes on illegal immigration total about $150.7 billion each year, according to an analysis published on Wednesday by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
According to the conservative advocacy group, the cost of illegal immigration has increased by $35 billion over the past five years for taxpayers due to the “only comprehensive study of the financial impact of illegal immigration in the United States.” As compared to the $182 billion they reportedly incur in public expenses, illegal immigrants generate $32 billion in tax revenue.
FAIR President Dan Stein stated “The costs of providing for millions of people who have no legal right to be in the United States continues to grow at an alarming rate, Most of this enormous financial burden has been inflicted on taxpayers by the open borders advocates at every level of government.”
As a result of illegal immigration, the federal government incurs $66.5 billion in medical expenses, including Medicaid costs for American-born children of illegal immigrants and uncompensated hospital expenses. Furthermore, $25.1 billion is allocated to federal justice and border enforcement efforts, including Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families account for another $11.6 billion in welfare expenditures.
Biden has been very weak on the border issues, so much so a federal judge just shot down one of his sneaky moves.
Fox News reports, on Wednesday, a federal judge in Florida overturned the Biden administration’s use of parole to mass release migrants into the U.S. interior, calling it illegal and accusing it of turning the border into a “meaningless line in the sand.”
According to the judge, the administration violated the law by releasing tens of thousands of migrants via humanitarian parole into Alternatives to Detention – known as “Parole + ATD.”
Wetherell wrote that the Biden administration “had effectively turned the Southwest Border into a meaningless line in the sand and little more than a speedbump for aliens flooding into the country.”
As well, Wetherell ruled that the policies implemented by the Biden administration, including catch and release, contributed to the degradation of the border.
As the Biden Administration continues to neglect securing the border, American taxpayers are shelling out $151 billion each year because of illegal immigration – an unconstitutional crisis and a Biden fail. This analysis published by FAIR is further evidence that accountability is needed for those pushing these destructive policies. We must ensure that Americans no longer bear the burden of this astronomical cost and secure our borders to protect both economic security and the rule of law – a principle all Americans can agree upon.
