The ruthless truth is upon us, Americans are in more danger now than ever before. An enemy roams close nearby, an enemy that many despise; an enemy we can’t escape – our own government. While recent senators like John Kennedy have stepped up to call out the dangers of this administration’s policies, criminal groups continue to grow stronger in and right outside our borders.
Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana delivered a firm message to President Biden on Fox News Sunday, saying the President does not care about the Mexican drug cartels, even as innocent Americans continue to lose their lives on both sides of our borders. The comment highlights the deep frustration and divide between Republicans and Democrats when it comes to finding solutions regarding security at the border.
Daily Caller reports, two Americans were murdered by a Mexican cartel in Matamoros after four Americans had been kidnapped.
On behalf of its members, the cartel apologized, saying the killings were against its policy of “respecting the life and well-being of the innocent.”
The senator appeared on Fox to express Americans’ deep frustration with Biden’s administration
In February, more than a dozen Republican states urged Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken to designate Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
The states wrote, “to date, no action has been taken. The same cartels who produce and traffic this dangerous chemical are also assassinating rivals and government officials, ambushing, and killing Americans at the border, and engaging in an armed insurgency against the Mexican government.9 This dangerous terrorist activity occurring at our border will not abate unless we escalate our response.”
In making the designation, Virginia’s Jason Miyares and Texas’ Ken Paxton point to an increase in deaths related to fentanyl.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2021, most of which were caused by fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.
DEA reports Mexican cartels manufacture illicit fentanyl with chemicals sourced from China, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
With the drug cartel activities in Mexico escalating to new heights each day we do nothing, something must be done soon or we risk having a much bigger issue at our hands at the end of this administration. Senator Kennedy has been a strong voice on the issue and continues to work towards finding solutions to bring a stop to this tragedy. If the Mexican government refuses to help us now, we must remember that in the next Administration and hold them properly accountable.
