How true is the statement that “the more a government hides from you the more likely you are to crack later on”? Karine Jean Piere recently got a first-row seat to this very reality. We must be diligent in our guard against those who mislead and feather their own nests, as proving the truth can be difficult and dangerous. The integrity of our society is only as strong as its commitment to truth, no matter how uncomfortable it might be for those in the limelight. That’s why truth is so crucial in our society today, even for those who may try to turn a blind eye.
Daily caller reports, at the end of Thursday’s briefing, reporters confronted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about their limited access to President Joe Biden.
Jean-Pierre was questioned by a White House reporter about the president’s meeting with Ireland’s Prime Minister Leo Varadkar on St. Patrick’s Day. While she attempted to leave the briefing, reporters confronted her regarding the lack of press access when world leaders visit the White House.
Let’s watch her squirm as she is confronted by a pack of starving hyenas.
Varadkar and Biden will meet at the White House for a bilateral meeting and St. Patrick’s Day celebration. In addition, he will attend the Naval Observatory’s annual breakfast with Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
There have been repeated complaints from the press about not being allowed to ask Biden questions by the White House press team. The White House received nearly 70 letters from White House reporters asking Jean-Pierre to lift Covid restrictions and provide more access to the president’s events.
A year later, here we are. The restrictions have been lifted and the press is still being shut out by the administration.
News flash reporters, you’ll have the same blow up you just had next year just like when you sent those letters last year. When will you understand that this administration does not care about transparency? You are merely there as props so they can make themselves look like they care about a free press. If they truly cared, you would have unlimited access to pose whatever questions, instead of being picked ahead of time. Part of this is your fault for not doing your jobs like real journalists typically would.
