Shocking new poll reveals the top concern for Americans in regard to the U.S.-Mexico border, and it’s not what you think. With the expiration of the Trump-era Title 42 policy, Texas is stepping up to protect the country against the impending migrant surge and rampant human trafficking at the border.

In a recent nationwide poll conducted by The Trafalgar Group and Convention of States Action, human trafficking of women and children topped the list of concerns for Americans in regard to the U.S.-Mexico border.

As the Trump-era Title 42 policy, which has been credited with blocking millions of illegal crossings, is set to expire next month, officials are bracing for a surge in migrants. In response to this looming crisis, Texas is leading the charge in protecting the country against human trafficking and illegal immigration.

According to the Trafalgar Group’s survey, released in partnership with the Convention of States Action, 35.1% of likely general election voters are most concerned about human trafficking of women and children. This alarming statistic is particularly relevant given the state of the border, which is increasingly being used by traffickers to smuggle people into the U.S. illegally.

In second place, with 26.6% of respondents, were illegal border crossers or asylum seekers being released into the U.S. before their cases are reviewed. This practice puts the country at a great risk of allowing in dangerous criminals and terrorists.

However, instead of acknowledging the severity of the situation, the Biden administration and Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, seem to be ignoring the issue, refusing to acknowledge that the border is in crisis.

Texas is stepping up to fill this leadership void, with a HOW MANY MORE rally planned for outside the Texas state Capitol in Austin on Saturday, April 29, with speakers expected to include Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), musician Ted Nugent, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, Convention of States President Mark Meckler, and real-life victims of border tragedy, according to a press release.

This event aims to raise attention to the border situation and secure Texas HB 20, which would create a Texas “Border Protection Unit.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a “disaster” at the border, calling on other states to join in the fight against human trafficking and illegal immigration. Mark Meckler, President of the Convention of States, believes that Texas could be the key player in saving the nation from further erosion of America’s values.

The stakes are high as the expiration of the Trump-era Title 42 policy looms, and Texas is at the forefront of protecting the country against the impending migrant surge and rampant human trafficking at the border. The rally outside the Texas State Capitol, which will feature prominent conservatives like Rep. Chip Roy, musician Ted Nugent, and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, highlights the deep concern among Americans and the need for action.

In the face of the looming crisis, Texas has shown that it is willing to lead and protect the nation from the dangers posed by illegal immigration and human trafficking. It is up to the rest of the country to follow suit and support Texas in its fight to secure the border and uphold American values.
