Their tactics include disrupting traffic and causing inconvenience to motorists. However, their latest protest has caused a stir on social media after a video was posted showing an alleged collision between a driver and a protestor. The police are now investigating the incident.
The video, which was posted by the activist group on Tuesday, shows a driver slowly pushing through a protest blockade set up by the group. One protestor refused to move from the road, and the driver inched forward, causing the protestor to fall to the ground. Other protestors can be heard shouting that the driver drove over her foot. UK police are investigating the incident to determine if anyone was injured. The group has received backlash on social media, with some individuals claiming that the protestor was faking their injury.
A social media user screenshotted the “victim” who claimed to have been rammed, tweeting, “Just got run over by a car but look at the smile on the face. Don’t make me laugh.”
This is not the first time Just Stop Oil has caused chaos in London. Earlier this week, a frustrated driver was caught on video taking banners from protestors who were blocking the street. The driver can be heard saying, “I need to go to work. I’m going to be late today. What do you want me to do?”
