In a shocking twist, while the southern border crisis continues to overwhelm our attention, a chilling surge of illegal immigrants is overwhelming America at the opposite end. This comes as the Biden administration turns a blind eye to threats pouring in from all over the world at every point of entry. Let’s talk about what’s being neglected.
U.S. Rep. Tenney is a member of the House Northern Border Caucus and has been sounding the alarm about the northern border crisis for some time. She called it a “disaster” and a humanitarian crisis that threatens America’s national security. The Biden administration knows this, yet it continues to ignore the problem. Even cold conditions failed to stem the surge in unlawful border crossings over the winter.
Despite the clear evidence of a crisis, the Biden administration is doing nothing to secure the northern border, while its policies incentivize and allow unlawful immigration to surge. In fact, Biden recently claimed the border was “much better than [the media] expected” during a weekend getaway. This is a stark contrast to the reality on the ground. Four illegal immigrants, including two children, have died near the U.S.-Canada border, highlighting the dangers posed by an unsecured border.
The Swanton Sector has been hit particularly hard, with illegal immigrants pouring across the border despite the frigid conditions. This surge is a direct result of the Biden administration’s policies, which signal to would-be illegal immigrants that they will be allowed to enter the United States with little or no resistance.
As U.S. Rep. Tenney pointed out, this is not about compassion anymore; it’s about the total lack of respect for taxpayers and sovereignty, as well as the safety of the people within our borders.
Governor Kathy Hochul of New York, along with other Democrats, has shown no interest in securing America’s borders or cracking down on the criminal organizations exploiting Biden’s policies. This puts American lives at risk and adds to the ongoing threat to communities and national security. The additional costs to residents are simply too much to bear, especially in light of the tragic deaths of four illegal immigrants near the U.S.-Canada border.
The crisis in the U.S.-Canada border is nothing as dangerous and deadly as the one at the southern border but it’s something to pay attention to.
