**Oklahoma Mom Sues School After Daughter Allegedly Attacked by Transgender Student**

A concerned mother in Oklahoma is taking legal action against her daughter’s school district. Her teenage daughter was reportedly “severely beaten” by a transgender student in the girls’ restroom. The school is now under fire for failing to follow state regulations.

In a shocking turn of events last October, a biological boy identifying as transgender was accused of entering the girls’ restroom at Edmond Memorial High School. Inside, two innocent female students fell victim to his brutal attack. The alleged assailant, known only as “A,” was later charged with assault and battery, as well as disorderly conduct. The reported aftermath of the incident saw one female student suffering from injuries to her head, face, and potential concussion. A witness even revealed that her attacker “knocked her out clean on the floor.”

Oklahoma law strictly dictates that students and staff must use restrooms that correspond with their biological sex. Transgender students who refuse to abide by the policy must opt for a single-occupancy restroom or changing room. It seems, however, that this was not the case in Edmond Memorial High School.

Theresa Gooden, mother to 15-year-old “E.G.,” has filed a lawsuit against the school district. Gooden alleged that her daughter’s attacker, a 17-year-old biological boy claiming to be transgender, left E.G. with “severe physical and mental injuries” and “severe emotional distress.” The lawsuit criticizes the school for disregarding state law that would have barred the transgender student from entering the girls’ restroom.

Notably, the student in question had supposedly been removed from the school campus only days before his attack, following threats made to E.G. The school district claimed that they were unaware the student was transgender and had enrolled in the institution as female. Gooden’s lawsuit suggests that the assistant principal, Maryjel Cochrane, was informed about the student’s gender identity but failed to prevent the student’s continued use of the girls’ restroom.

Superintendent Dr. Angela Grunewald later announced that the transgender student was no longer attending the school and had received “consequences” for violating the restroom policy. However, Edmond Public Schools have yet to comment on the incident.

**Family Fights for Justice After School Fails to Protect Their Child**

The distressing incident that unfolded in Edmond Memorial High School highlights the importance of maintaining strict adherence to state laws concerning restroom usage. These regulations are in place to protect the safety and well-being of all students, providing a secure learning environment where they can thrive. As the family embarks on their legal battle seeking justice for their daughter, schools everywhere should take note and prioritize the safety of their students.
