In an extraordinary move, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has granted exclusive access to the long-sought January 6th Capitol surveillance footage to three conservative outlets. This development comes after months of pleas from political prisoners and their families, who need this crucial evidence to defend themselves in court.

Last month, news broke that Fox News’ Tucker Carlson was the first to review the trove of 41,000 hours of footage from the January 6th protests. Despite ignoring official requests for access from The Gateway Pundit and the families of the prisoners, McCarthy has now given the green light to John Solomon, Julie Kelly, and another unnamed outlet to release the tapes.

Controversially, however, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has reversed her previous stance in support of the footage’s release, stating that making the tapes public could compromise Capitol security. This is a departure from her earlier optimism, when she excitedly announced the footage would be made available to the appointed outlets.

The January 6th political prisoners have been deprived of their rights, with many facing harsh treatment in confinement, separated from loved ones, and subjected to destructive media smears. Their homes have been raided, and their livelihoods destroyed, as mainstream media outlets have perpetuated false narratives about the events that unfolded that day.

The Gateway Pundit has stood by these Americans, who are still being held without trial, from the beginning. We have published hundreds of reports and shared prisoner letters and video recordings. TGP has also been instrumental in helping the prisoners’ families raise money to support them, totaling over $2 million. The comprehensive American Gulag database we have assembled allows people to view the most current information on each prisoner, including ways to contact them and provide financial help.

Despite the efforts to suppress the truth, this unprecedented release of the footage will serve to provide much-needed transparency, which could ultimately expose the ongoing abuse of these innocent American citizens.
