Secretary of State Antony Blinken has been caught out making a fool of himself once again. In a recent statement, Blinken compared the American Revolution to the French Revolution, proving his complete lack of knowledge about history. Nationally syndicated radio host Dana Loesch wasted no time in offering Blinken a brief history lesson, questioning if he is “historically illiterate.” It is clear that the Secretary of State needs to go back to school and learn some basic facts.
The War of Independence and the French Revolution were fueled by the same aspirations for freedom, democracy, and human rights. Today, we are more committed than ever to defending them — together. Warmest wishes on Bastille Day to the people of France.

Loesch rightly pointed out that while the American Revolution was founded in the protection of individualism and freedom, the French Revolution pushed for socialist subjugation and was more concerned with freedom “to” than freedom “from.” It is an embarrassment that someone in such a high-ranking position can’t seem to understand this fundamental difference.
Our revolution, founded in the protection of individualism and freedom *from* is opposite the French Revolution which pushed freedom *to* and socialist subjugation. Tocqueville noted that freedom was no longer the main pursuit of the revolutionaries. It was so unsuccessful it was…

Even worse, Blinken’s statement completely ignores the fact that the French Revolution led to a reign of terror which saw tens of thousands of people killed in the most gruesome ways imaginable. Political opponents were hunted down and destroyed, and the power of the state was unleashed against its citizens, viciously crushing all dissent. No question or doubt was tolerated under the rule of the French Revolution. In comparison, the American Revolution was a peaceful uprising, with the Founders working within the framework of their established laws to secure their independence.
It is clear that Blinken is completely out of touch with reality. He should be ashamed of comparing the American Revolution to the disaster that was the French Revolution. The fact that he praises this bloody revolution shows that modern liberals like him are its heirs.
To make matters worse, Blinken’s tweet is not even the official position of the State Department. The Founders were so opposed to the French Revolution that the Federalists legislated against it. This is what happens when you let children run social media platforms – they make embarrassing mistakes that show their incompetence and ignorance.
It is high time for Blinken to be held accountable for his actions. It is unacceptable that someone in his position can make such a historically inaccurate and ignorant statement. The American people deserve a Secretary of State who understands the history of their own country and can provide accurate information without resorting to leftist propaganda. Until Blinken can do that, he should do the honorable thing and resign.
