Another day, another brazen ATM heist in California. The criminal element seems to be getting bolder and more creative in their efforts to steal from hard-working Americans. This time, the thieves used a forklift to make off with an ATM in Sacramento.
The shocking video footage shows the forklift’s driver, wearing an orange safety vest and mask, ramming into the ATM while an accomplice waits in a nearby white truck. Moments later, the ATM is knocked over onto its side. Undeterred, the forklift’s driver makes a second attempt and successfully loads the machine into the bed of the truck.
However, their “getaway” wasn’t quite as successful as they had planned. As the truck was speeding down Watt Avenue, the improperly secured ATM fell out onto the road, causing an unrelated traffic crash. The brazen thieves didn’t even have the decency to stop and help anyone they may have injured. Instead, they fled the scene like the cowards they are.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for these dangerous criminals, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that law enforcement is fighting an uphill battle against the criminal element. Thieves are getting more creative in their attempts to steal from hard-working Americans, and it seems like they’ll stop at nothing to get what they want.
This is just the latest in a string of ATM heists that have been occurring across the country. In February, thieves in New Orleans targeted a convenience store by backing up a truck into a window to steal a Capital One ATM machine. Just like in Sacramento, the suspects were dressed in black and wearing ski masks, indicating that these criminals are highly organized and dangerous.
It’s time for Americans to stand up and demand that our leaders take action to stop these brazen thieves in their tracks. We can’t simply sit back and watch as our hard-earned money is stolen by these criminals. We need to be proactive in protecting our communities and our livelihoods.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward and help bring these criminals to justice.
