The Democrat-controlled Washington, D.C. has once again proven to be a dangerous place for conservatives as a staffer for Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Phillip Todd, was brutally stabbed in March. The disturbing video footage of the attack perpetrated by the deranged Glynn Neal has recently surfaced, exposing the heinous crime committed against an innocent man.

As the footage reveals, Todd was leaving a restaurant with a friend when the suspect charged in and savagely tackled him to the ground, stabbing him repeatedly with a knife. The friend tried to intervene and stop the crazed attacker, who ran away after Todd’s friend managed to ward him off.
This was nothing short of a premeditated assault with the intent to kill. Astonishingly, Neal had just been released from federal prison 24 hours before committing the heinous crime. According to court records, Neal was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a felony that carries a life sentence. However, because of his apparent psychological instability, he was deemed unfit to stand trial and remains in jail with a scheduled appearance in September.
The attack on Phillip Todd was an act of sheer brutality that displayed the increasing hostility towards conservatives in Democrat-controlled urban cities. The Democrats’ policy of letting criminals run rampant and attacking law-abiding citizens with impunity is a clear sign that their far-left ideology has undermined public safety.
Todd’s parents released a statement condemning the attack and asking for privacy during their son’s recovery. They thanked the Lord for their son’s swift and full recovery despite the traumatic experience, but the fact remains that this could have been a fatal attack. If not for the presence of Todd’s friend, Todd might have lost his life in an entirely senseless and cold-blooded attack.
Republicans must take action to protect the lives of their staffers and supporters, especially in Democrat-controlled cities where the mayhem rages. By holding Democrats responsible for the unacceptable state of public safety in their cities, Republicans can make a meaningful difference in their constituents’ lives. The attack on Phillip Todd was unacceptable, and we need to do everything in our power to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
