Get ready, folks – George Soros, the liberal billionaire, is ramping up his attempts to clamp down on free speech online before the 2024 U.S. presidential election. With his deep pockets and penchant for censorship, he’s using Big Tech as his plaything.
Free Press, a group funded by Soros, takes pride in its role in booting former President Trump off of Twitter. But it seems that was just the beginning. This group is now leading a global charge to restrict free expression online. “More Than 200 Groups Urge Leading Tech Platforms to Implement Election-Integrity Policies to Protect Democracy Worldwide,” they recently broadcasted. A look below the surface shows a chilling truth – at least 45 of those groups have received a whopping $80,757,329 of Soros’s money between 2016 and 2022.
Their aim? To pressure Big Tech to modulate speech the left finds disagreeable. As the world gears up for elections in over 60 countries in 2024, it is alarming that the primary target seems to be the 2024 U.S. election. Soros has a long history of using his finances to meddle in elections by curbing online speech.
And how do they plan to rein in free speech? By advocating for “interventions” that include, unsettlingly, “moderating content around the Big Lie,” defined as the idea that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. We’re entering a new feudal era – a tech tyranny, if you will, where Big Tech companies act as overlords, censoring free speech on a whim.
Among those leading this horrific crusade is Nora Benavidez, senior counsel and director of Digital Justice and Civil Rights at Free Speech. She’s been hammering away with her message that failing to regulate content online will allegedly be disastrous for free elections worldwide.
The roots of Free Press reveal a disturbing affinity with socialism. Co-founder Robert W. McChesney made a call to “overhaul” the American press, linking media reform with the struggle for democracy, social justice, and yes, socialism.
Equally concerning are the signatories to this letter. Global Witness, a group awash with Soros’ cash, is already twisting Facebook and TikTok’s arm to turn up their censorship operations. ‘Not too big to change,’ they declare, urging governments to regulate speech on social media.
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), another beneficiary of Soros, is renowned for its ‘hate groups’ blacklist, targeting conservative and faith-based organizations. The list was used by law enforcement to coax private financial institutions into parting with sensitive customer data.
Pour one out for free speech, folks. Free Press is reaching for the reins of the Internet with both hands, intent on cracking down on dissent. Their dream involves imposing Net Neutrality rules, granting the government sweeping powers to micromanage the Internet.
What can you do? Contact your representatives. Demand clarity, transparency, and fairness in Big Tech’s treatment of conservatives. If we don’t act now, we risk our free speech rights being swept away under the pretext of safeguarding ‘election-integrity’. It’s time to step up and fight against this creeping tech tyranny. Raise your voice while you still can.
