So, the big news is – if Biden trips up this debate, it could be curtains for him. He launches into a string of incomprehensible gibberish and suddenly we might be looking at a new Democratic Presidential candidate.
What haunts many is whether Biden can keep his act together for the full 90 minutes. Sure, policy issues and sharp retorts will matter, but the fear of ‘low-information voters’ getting distracted by minor details is bound to keep political stalwarts up at night.
Lemire’s suggestion that an incumbent president is at a disadvantage because he didn’t go through the primary process didn’t cut ice with me. It’s a laughable thought given that he and the pro-Biden media barely raised an eyebrow when Biden faced no primary debates or opposition. Worse, will he snap at challenging questions from the mainstream media, as he has previously? Also, let’s not forget Biden’s rude outburst at Peter Doocy, calling him a ‘stupid SOB’. Adds spice to his ‘nice guy’ image, doesn’t it?
Biden, you better not falter, as it’s not just the Republicans waiting for you to slip, but also your own party folks with their daggers drawn.
