Nancy Pelosi is going to war…with her own nephew-in-law and Democrat Governor of California Gavin Newsom. Trust us, this fight is getting pretty crazy and it’s all about the blame game.
Newsom made public remarks against his own party in Washington D.C. last week following the announcement of the possible end of Roe V Wade. Oh, and did we mention that auntie Pelosi is the head of those DC Dems?
Governor Newsom stated, “Democrats have failed to target Republicans. Where is the Democratic Party – where’s the party? Why aren’t we calling this out? This is a concerted, coordinated effort and, yes, they’re winning. We need to stand up. Where is the counter offensive?”
While Pelosi didn’t respond immediately, she was forced to reply to her nephew-in-law’s criticism when she appeared on the CBS show Face the Nation on Sunday. Host Margaret Brennan asked the Speaker of the House why she thought Newsom would make the accusation.
“I have no idea why anybody would make that statement,” Pelosi responded, “Unless they were unaware of the fight that has been going on.”
Pelosi continued, “The fact is that we have been fighting for a woman’s right to choose – and that is to choose. We have been fighting against the Republicans in the Congress constantly.”
Avoiding insulting her family member by marriage directly, she defended her fellow DC Dems by saying, “This is a constant fight that we’ve had for generations – decades I should say, in my case, in the Congress. The science hasn’t changed, but the court changed.”
Considering Nancy Pelosi’s love for fellow California Democrats and her personal relationship with Governor Gavin Newsom, it’s clear that the fight over ending Roe v Wade is turning into nothing but a blame-game for the Democrats in an attempt to survive without actually doing anything. Do you think the party will be able to survive this new division?
