Mika Brzezinski of ‘Morning Joe’ sure didn’t hold back any punches targeting Fox News as she accused them of painting a misinformed picture that President Trump is a sound leader. The same network she claims so many Americans trust unwaveringly. Are we all supposed to jump on the Biden bandwagon because her side thinks democracy is at stake?
Brzezinski’s spiel on the ‘Morning Joe’ show revealed a clear bias in the media towards President Trump. She took it upon herself to assert that Trump ‘wants to be a dictator,’ and we must therefore vote for Joe Biden, the white knight who ‘endorses democracy.’ All this despite consent over Biden’s policies and legislation. One might wonder how the perceived accomplishment cherishes democracy more than the President’s rightful mandate and constitutionally defined terms of office.
Brzezinski had the audacity to mock Ronald Reagan, belittling his role in ending the Cold War, and went ahead to elevate Biden, even linking questionable attributes like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama’s disputed accomplishments.
Her tirade did not end there. She emotionally manipulated her audience, aiming her cannons at Fox News. She insinuated that Fox News shielded President Trump’s quotes about being a ‘dictator,’ manipulating her viewers with a one-sided portrayal. She suggested people should worry about Trump but portrayed Biden as a seasoned statesman facing ‘tough circumstances’ in the global arena. All this, despite Biden’s mishaps and the conspicuous absence of a teleprompter.
In her closing argument, she delved into Biden’s showmanship around visiting American World War I graves in France, allegedly skipped by Trump. She referred to a conjecture that Trump insulted fallen soldiers, labelled ‘suckers’ and ‘losers’. Yet, when pressed for actual evidence of these comments, the response became rather wishy-washy. However, this doesn’t stop Biden from rehashing this questionable anecdote, presenting it as a stark difference between them.
It’s alarming to witness the selective memory of Brzezinski when it comes to accommodating doubting views on televised networks. The ‘Morning Joe’ segment perfectly captured the media’s overwhelming bias towards President Trump and their endorsement of Joe Biden. It begs the question: If the truth is irrelevant, where does that leave freedom, democracy and the rule of law?
