Curveball Court Order Halts Confederate Monument Removal
In a blow to the rash national movement to erase our American history, a gutsy U.S. federal judge has made a move to protect it by issuing a restraining order to cease the removal of a Confederate monument in Arlington National Cemetery. The motion has temporarily stopped the wrecking ball mid-swing, giving primacy to the principle of preserving the integrity of historical landmarks. Rising controversy or not, one cannot dispute the undying relevance of these memorials, which commemorate a pivotal chapter of our past. History is not always comfortable or agreeable, but it remains chronically instructive, warranting its preservation.
