Nancy Pelosi Says Biden Doesn’t Have Power to Forgive Student Loan Debt

Sometimes even Democrats tell the truth. This time it was actually Nancy Pelosi. And what she said contradicts what Joe Biden has been telling the American people.

Pelosi said: “People think that the President of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness. He does not…That has to be an act of Congress.”

There’s a reason people think Biden has this power, since he keeps saying, or at least insinuating, that he does, as it relates to student loans. According to Newsweek, on April 25 Biden met with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. California Democratic Representative Tony Cardenas said that, while there, Biden indicated that he would be open to relieving some debt for borrowers who attended private or public institutions.

Cardenas also asked Biden about debt forgiveness of $10,000 per borrower. He stated that Biden responded this way: ‘Yes, I’m exploring doing something on that front,” and that he smiled and said, “You’re going to like what I do on that as well.”

The issue is that Biden can’t forgive debt. He simply doesn’t have that power. He can push debt payments back, as he has done. But the debt is still there. It will not go away unless Congress makes that happen. Just ask Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

This appears to be a way to string Democrat voters, especially young ones, along. To make them think that, if they just keep Biden in power, he will eventually forgive their student debt. As always, everything they say is to get or keep power, and to hell with the truth.

Will Biden’s lies work? Will they help him remain in power? Let us know in the comments.
