First Positive Covid-19 Tests Reported For Attendees of White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The first person who attended the White House Correspondent’s Dinner on Saturday April 30 has tested positive for Covid-19. This, despite stringent protocols, including making attendees show proof of vaccination and a same-day negative test.

However, Voice of America’s chief national correspondent Steve Herman Tweeted about his positive test on Tuesday, three days after the event.

This was a very large gathering, with reportedly 2600 people in attendance. Included on the guest list was the President of the United States, who unscientifically chose not to eat at the gathering but did show up to speak.

Anthony Fauci, as the Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States, is logically behind these interesting decisions. He himself chose not to attend the dinner due to his own risk assessment, but made another interesting decision instead: instead of going to the dinner, he went to a large pre-dinner party where no one was masked or socially distanced. There is no information as to whether anyone had to prove vaccination status or a negative test at the party.

Not that those protocols seemed to help. Herman wasn’t the only one who has already tested positive. Jonathan Karl, ABC News’s chief Washington correspondent, also tested positive. And these are the only ones we know about. Importantly, Karl shook hands with President Biden at the event, according to Politico.

Also according to Politico, the White House Correspondent’s Dinner was widely expected to worsen the spread of Covid-19. These people who are making the policies and issuing the orders and mandates have no idea what they are doing. They are not using science to make their decisions. In fact, Biden’s reason for wanting to attend was to show up Trump. Jen Psaki said so:

“He’s made the decision he wants to attend, in a safe way, the White House correspondents’ dinner to showcase his support for the free press, for the work of all of you, for the work of your colleagues around the world to not only share accurate information about COVID but also report on the war in Ukraine and all of the work that happens every single day. That does stand in stark contrast to his predecessor, who not only questioned the legitimacy of the press on a nearly daily basis, but also never attended the dinner, I don’t believe. So, he felt that was important and made a risk assessment to do that in consultation with his doctors and health care team.”

Does anyone in Washington know what they’re doing?
