Donald Trump has a habit of giving people nicknames. And the ones he gives almost always stick. Think Pocahontas for Elizabeth Warren, Sleepy Joe for Biden, Crazy Hillary for Hillary Clinton, and many many more.
Well, it doesn’t work so well for Joe Biden. He has a habit of always trying to be funny, but he’s just not. Unless you count falling asleep at very inappropriate times. Lest we not forget when he fell asleep at the Climate Change Conference in 2021:
On Thursday, Biden thought it’d be clever to give Donald Trump a nickname, referring to him as “the MAGA king.”
The only problem is, giving Trump a nickname backfired big time. In fact, Trump himself thanked him for it!
Conservatives wasted no time to take the new nickname and run with it. Here’s a couple of Tweets:
Fox News’s Jacqui Heinrich asked Jen Psaki about Biden’s giving of the former President a nickname, saying, “I’m just wondering if this is the best strategy for Biden … especially given his inaugural theme being ‘America United.'”
Psaki responded, “Well, I would say that the president is not afraid to call out what he sees as extreme positions that are out of line with where the American people stand.”
“And whether that is supporting a tax plan that will raise taxes on 75 million Americans making less than $100,000 a year, or whether it is supporting efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade, something that two thirds of the American people in a Fox News poll, may I add, supported, and there are countless examples from there. The president believes that there is still work we can do together. The bipartisan innovation is a good example of that. But again, he is not going to stand back and stand aside while people are pushing for extreme positions that are not in the interests or supported by the vast majority of the American people.”
So there you have it! If you disagree with Biden, you are “extreme.” Furthermore, you deserve to be insulted for your opposition. Or at least, Biden tried to insult Trump. Has Biden done anything to unify this country?
