Ron DeSantis has become a household name and a hero amongst conservatives in the last year for taking bold stances when other Republicans back down. Now the Governor of Florida has announced he wants to honor Biden…with a membership to a drug cartel!

DeSantis was speaking to reporters at an event celebrating new investment in Okaloosa County when the firebrand came to his favorite subject, President Biden.

“Biden should be given an honorary membership in the Mexican drug cartels because nobody has done more to help the cartels than Biden with his open border policies,” DeSantis declared to the gaggle of reporters.

He continued by slamming Biden’s decision to end Title 42, a Trump-era order which allowed for a significant reduction in immigration during the pandemic. DeSantis said, “It’s a total disaster. It’s been a disaster. I fear with Title 42, if they do repeal it, I think things are fixing to get even worse,” he added.

Joe Biden decided to end Title 42 under the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on May 23rd. The order from the President has been halted and the order currently remains in tact, however, after a temporary stop was placed on it while several Republican states sue.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, one of the AGs behind the lawsuit, said, “In a lawsuit originally filed by Missouri, Louisiana, and Arizona, our Office just obtained a temporary restraining order to keep Title 42 in place. This is a huge victory for border security, but the fight continues on.”

Despite the Title remaining in place for now, many immigrants have begun moving towards the border in anticipation of it’s eventual opening. Bill Melugin from FOX News reported that “234,088 migrants [were] encountered at the Southern border in April, per a DHS court filing today. That’s the highest number in DHS history. 117,989 migrants were released into the U.S. in April. 113,248 were removed, including 96,908 expelled via Title 42.”

The huge influx of people at our southern border sends mixed messages for an administration constantly suggesting that another disease surge could be coming. It makes little sense to burden our tanking economy and problematic healthcare systems with so many new people, especially before we as a country recover.

What do you think of DeSantis’s plan for Biden’s cartel membership? Do you think the surge of immigrants at the border is part of some grand plan by the Democrats to secure votes and cheap labor?
