On Tuesday, President Joe Biden signed nine bills into law to help improve healthcare for veterans alongside the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough in the White House. It was something he did before the signing that had people online scratching their heads.
After the signing attended by lawmakers, veterans and their family members, Biden told the children there to stay after with him.
“And, again, kids, thank you for being here. Okay? Thank you very much. Maybe I can talk to you afterwards. Will you talk to me later? Okay. All right. Thank you,” Biden said strangely before moving to the signing desk.
The bills the president signed on Tuesday are meant to reform health care for veterans and give back to America’s heroes.
“The bills signed there are targeted to expand access to cancer screening and other treatments for veterans,” Biden said.
The President discussed before he signed the bills the burn pits used by the military shown to cause cancer. He wondered if his son Beau, who died of brain cancer, could have fallen ill because of these burn pits.

“We need to talk about burn pits that incinerate waste of war tires, poisonous chemicals, jet fuels, and so much more, I won’t even mention,” said Biden. “Toxic smoke with the poison spreading through our bases and into the lungs of our troops. And when they came home, many of the fittest and best trained warriors we’ve ever had were not the same. Headaches, numbness, dizziness. Cancer. My son Beau was one of them.”
Many online pointed out that Biden’s comments to the kids came across slightly creepy and he has frequently been called names like “creepy Joe” or “Uncle Joe” in reference to his frequent strange interactions with children. In his defense, the president has many strange interactions with everyone – not just children.
