AOC Refuses to Endorse Biden for 2024

AOC discussing how Biden is losing support amongst young voters

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is someone young liberals listen to. Her viewpoints are considered quite progressive and she is an important progressive voice in the Democratic Party.

Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC as she is called, appeared on State of the Union on CNN Sunday and dodged a very important question for Biden and for her party. Anchor Dana Bash asked AOC this question about Biden, “[h]e is saying he’s going to run again in 2024. Will you support him?” reports The Daily Beast. AOC replied, “I’m focused on winning this majority right now and preserving a majority this year and 2022. So we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “But I think if the president has a vision, and that’s something, certainly, we’re all willing to entertain and examine when the time comes.”

Recognizing AOC’s dodge, Bash said, “[t]hat’s not a yes,” to which AOC continued her dodge, saying, “I think we should endorse when we get to it,”  but I believe that the president has been doing a very good job so far. And, you know, should he run again, I think that I, you know, I think it’s — we’ll take a look at it. Right now. We need to focus on winning a majority instead of a presidential election.”

At least she was able to choke out the part about believing that Biden has been doing a very good job so far. Kind of like what you’d say to your grandpa who is trying to learn his walker.

Par for the course, CNN cut the part of the interview where AOC dodges the Biden 2024 question off of their twitter post. And they say they are becoming more unbiased:

This didn’t stop people from tweeting about what she said anyway. “LOL on CNN’s State of the Union, AOC just refused to say she would support Biden if he runs in 2024,” one person tweeted.

AOC isn’t the only Democrat concerned about a second term for Joe Biden. The New York Times reported on Saturday that “dozens of frustrated Democratic officials, members of Congress and voters” don’t think Biden can save the party.

Biden has the lowest approval ratings of his Presidency, and that number has only dropped since he took office.

See how bad inflation really is, and it’s not what the media is reporting

AOC is a politician and politicians dodge questions they don’t want to answer. But by dodging the question, she said everything anyone needs to know. Young Democrats like AOC, so this will be a big problem for Biden if he decides to run for a second term. Do you think he will?
