On Thursday, reporters can be heard yelling at President Joe Biden after the bill signing of S.3580, the “Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2022,” in which he refused to take questions from the press.

“Why have you stopped taking questions from the press?” a reporter can be heard shouting over the sound of classical music. “What are you afraid of?”

Biden ignored the requests and turned to talk with representatives to his left including former Presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar.

The ignored reporter continued to ask Biden about Russian billionaire Elena Baturina, who paid Hunter Biden $3.5 million through his firm Rosemont Seneca Thornton in 2014. He received no response.

According to the White House, the bill Biden signed allows for “additional requirements and prohibited conduct for ocean carriers and authorizes the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) for fiscal years 2022 through 2025.”

Biden took his first press interview in over 100 days this week with the AP. His reluctance to take sit down interviews has led to accusations that his presidency is one of the least transparent in recent decades. Many of his detractors say it is because he is afraid to answer tough questions about his record as President.

Biden only sat down for 28 interviews during his 2021 year in office. Former President Trump gave 95 interviews and Obama gave 162 interviews to the press, according to White House Transition Project Director Martha Kumar. There are no official records kept of presidential interviews and they are usually kept by informal means.

Biden has talked to the press, but rarely sits down with professional journalists. It’s expected that he does it because he is afraid of answering challenging questions.

In a rare interview this year, Biden spoke to the Associated Press reporter Josh Boak and said that gas prices are what he’s focusing on the most right now.

“If you want a direct barometer of what people are going to talk about… and whether things are going well, it’s the cost of food and what’s the cost of gasoline at the pump. I mean literally at the pump,” Biden said recognizing the problem facing Americans.

In a joke at Trump’s expense during the interview, Biden discussed his receding hair and said, “I’d settle for orange if I had more hair.”

Biden is obviously afraid of talking to the press and he should be. His policy record is atrocious and he has a hard time speaking in full sentences. It’s time that we had a President unafraid to stand up to press barbs and finally put America first. Do you think Biden is afraid to talk to the press and answer the hard questions about his family and his failed record?
