Eagle Pass is a small town east of the Rio Grande in Texas. Recently, hundreds of migrants were seen just walking on the side of the highway there. This is a crisis that Biden just keeps ignoring.
The reason for this is that the holding facilities to house illegal immigrants are full and overwhelmed, due to Biden’s decision to fling the doors to our borders wide open the day he took office. To ease the overcrowding, the migrants are being paroled, reports Fox News.
Fox reports, “[b]etween August and May Border Patrol officers have paroled more than 207,000 migrants to avoid overcrowding in detention centers, a system started under the Biden administration.” By law, the Homeland Security Department may parole migrants “for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”
In May, 51,132 migrants were paroled. That is a 28% increase over April numbers, Fox reports.
On Thursday, the Border Patrol’s top official for the Del Rio region said agents have experienced “increasing numbers of large groups [illegally] crossing into our area,” including a group of 300 people near Eagle Pass, reports the Washington Examiner.
It’s unclear whether these migrants have been paroled or have just crossed over the border. Either way, “[w]ith temperatures remaining near or over 100 degrees, those contemplating an illegal entry need to understand that these large groups delay transport times in the treacherous heat … a dangerous combination,” said Jason Owens, Border Patrol chief patrol agent in Del Rio.
With the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and the new gun law Biden just signed, the border will continue to get zero attention by the Biden administration. It remains a crisis with no one doing anything to solve it. What’s in it for Biden, to continue to ignore this issue?
