The instances of violent crime in liberal cities just keep happening. People getting beaten or stabbed in and around Los Angeles and shootings in New York City. Now, a crew member for a TV show that was filming in Brooklyn has been shot and killed in the street.

31-year-old Johnny Pizarro was shot and killed Tuesday morning, while he was attempting to save parking spaces on a street in Brooklyn. Pizarro was a crew member for the television show “Law & Order: Organized Crime” and was working when he was shot in the head and neck.

“Pizarro, who was contracted to do parking enforcement for the production company, was sitting in a car on North Henry Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn when an unknown assailant allegedly opened the vehicle’s door and fired a weapon, hitting his neck and head at about 5:15 a.m. local time, according to NYPD Spokesperson Det. Sophia Mason,” reports CNN.

NBC and Universal Television which produce the show released a statement saying they were “terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of [their] crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result. We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time.”

Actor Chris Meloni stars in the program. Based on the following tweet, it appears that they kept the shooting schedule going after their crew member was killed.

The killer got away and is still at large. Investigators are looking at surveillance video from the area to try to find out who committed the crime.

They say life imitates art and that certainly seems to be the case here. This seems like the sort of thing that would happen with the mob in NYC. So far, no one knows who the killer is or if he or she had a motive. Do you think it’s odd that they were still out filming the show after their crew member was shot and killed? Do you think that’s disrespectful?
