NYC Mayor Eric Adams Demands Federal Help For What He Calls a Wave of Asylum Seekers

People in border towns have been begging for help for the flood of immigrants that have been entering the country since Biden took office. The Biden administration, however, doesn’t much care and has kept the borders wide open. Now, one liberal mayor in a very large liberal city is screaming for help, too.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday that a wave of asylum seekers have been pouring into the city and that the city’s safety net is being strained by busloads of people coming from border states and elsewhere. He says as many as 2800 migrants have come to the city recently, from states like Texas and Arizona, but that the federal government has sent some too.

“Currently, New York City is experiencing a marked increase in the number of asylum seekers who are arriving from Latin America and other regions. In some instances, families are arriving on buses sent by the Texas and Arizona governments, while in other cases, it appears that individuals are being sent by the federal government,” Adams said in a statement.

According to the offices of both Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey they send asylum seekers to Washington – but not to New York City.

In addition to those governors, some in NYC are calling Eric Adams a liar. Homeless advocates in the city say Adams is “exaggerating” the migrant crisis, to cover for his mismanagement of the homeless in the city. They say he is committing legal violations in his own homeless system and he’s using the migrant issue to deflect from that.

What, a Democrat leader has lied? It’s hard to believe but appears to be true. The states he accused of sending migrants to the city aren’t doing so, and now he’s being called out by people in his own system. What do you think is happening in NYC?
