The border crisis is hurting Texans more than anyone, so Greg Abbott decided to do something about it… Ship the illegal aliens to democrats up north where they have been shielded from the effects of an open border. While some criticized the move as a publicity stunt, it seems to be getting results and the mayor of New York is NOT happy.
Greg Abbott isn’t taking any threat lying down. Eric Adams threatened Abbott and he fired back,
According to the Daily Caller, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott retaliated on Wednesday against New York City Mayor Eric Adams for threatening to support his opponent, Democratic Texas Governor Beto O’Rourke.
In a City Hall press conference, the Democratic mayor urged allies in Texas to cast their ballots for O’Rourke and suggested campaigning in the state. (twitter video link)

Abbott’s first bus of 24 illegal immigrants arrived in DC on April 13. The following day, 14 were dropped off in the city, and 30 the following day. According to the Washingtonian, approximately 3,500 migrants have been bussed to the city from Texas and Arizona since April.
According to the governor, small Texan communities are unable to handle the number of migrants crossing the border, so they are relocating them to larger cities. According to him, his administration is working with the National Guard to return migrants across the border and arrest them for trespassing.
Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requested that the National Guard be deployed to handle the influx of migrants being dropped off in the city from Texas and Arizona on Aug. 5. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin denied the request. In a previous statement, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed the White House had been in constant communication with Adams and Bowser’s offices, then accused Republican governors of exploiting migrants.
The words between Abbott and Adams have been sharp and the feud doesn’t seem like it will end anytime soon.
According to Fox News, Abbott’s office responded to Adams’ comment that it was “horrific” that the governor sent buses of migrants to New York, telling him to raise the issue with the president.
Abbott’s press secretary told Fox News, “What’s horrific is the thousands of illegal immigrants overrunning and overwhelming our border communities with populations smaller than a New York City borough, and Mayor Adams is hypocritically upset about welcoming a few dozen into his sanctuary city,”
In a letter to Department of Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas, New York Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Adriano Espaillat were also critical of reports that migrants arriving in New York have fake papers.
Texas has been bearing the brunt of illegal immigration for years with no help and no reaction from the rest of the country. Now that the Border crisis is being felt by the Democrats in northern states, maybe the federal government will actually start to address it. Greg Abbotts’s plan to bus illegals further into the states was controversial but it seems to be working and getting results.
