Smith & Wesson BLASTS Politicians: “We’re not going to let politicians get away with it”

Smith & Wesson CEO Shoots Down Gun Control Activists In Powerful New Address

Gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson has taken issue with politicians who demonize guns and lawful gun owners. They claim that these individuals are being unfairly targeted because of failed policies which have led to higher crime rates in our society, including an increase in murdered police officers this year so far!

This time politicians are blaming the gun manufactures for the rise in crime and violence

According to The Daily Wire, Smith & Wesson ripped politicians for demonizing guns and lawful gun owners to cover for failed policies that have led to surging crime rates.

Company president and CEO Mark Smith released a 440-word statement Monday castigating “politicians and their lobbying partners in the media.” Smith accused the cabal of using his company and other gun manufacturers as scapegoats for a “crisis of violence” that has rocked the United States.

The Statement read, “Some have had the audacity to suggest that after they have vilified, undermined and defunded law enforcement for years, supported prosecutors who refuse to hold criminals accountable for their actions, overseen the decay of our country’s mental health infrastructure, and generally promoted a culture of lawlessness, Smith & Wesson and other firearm manufacturers are somehow responsible for the crime wave that has predictably resulted from these destructive policies,”

“But they are the ones to blame for the surge in violence and lawlessness, and they seek to avoid any responsibility for the crisis of violence they have created by attempting to shift the blame to Smith & Wesson, other firearm manufacturers and law-abiding gun owners.”

Leftist prosecutors in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia have overseen spikes of violent crime across the communities they are tasked with keeping orderly and safe. Philadelphia is particularly dangerous and at risk of setting a record for most homicides in a year, tracking closely with its previous record set just last year.

Philadelphia’s Soros-backed district attorney, Larry Krasner, is one of the most left-leaning prosecutors in the U.S. He has faced intense criticism over his city’s spate of violent crime, and has even been threatened by Republican state lawmakers with impeachment.

President Joe Biden has made gun control one of his main priorities. He has repeated his calls to ban certain semi-automatic rifles and “high-capacity” magazines after mass shooting events.

In June, Democrats held an event outside the Smith & Wesson headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts, calling for stricter gun control. The event was led by Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey (D) targeted the gun manufacturer explicitly.

This demonization of the gun manufacturer comes after multiple mass shootings in the U.S including Uvalde, Buffalo, and Highland park which saw dozens of people killed. Recently the house passed an assault weapons ban that is doomed to fail in the senate.

According to NBC, The House passed legislation on July 29th that would ban assault weapons for the first time since 2004, in a sign that Democrats intend to pursue more aggressive gun violence prevention measures after a spate of mass shootings.

The bill passed in a largely party-line vote of 217-213, with two Republicans voting for the measure and five Democrats opposing it.

The level of GOP opposition indicates the bill is unlikely to advance in the evenly split Senate, where it would require the support of at least 10 Republicans to defeat a guaranteed filibuster. It’s also not clear if the measure has the support of all 50 Senate Democrats.

The legislation, authored by Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., would criminalize the knowing sale, manufacture, transfer, possession or importation of many types of semi-automatic weapons and large-capacity ammunition feeding devices.

President Joe Biden praised House Democrats for passing the bill and urged the Senate to follow suit.

He added that the Senate should “move quickly to get this bill to my desk, and I will not stop fighting until it does.”

During floor debate before Friday’s vote, House Democrats argued an assault weapons ban was needed because of the number of recent shootings where gunmen have used assault-style weapons.

When will democrats understand that guns don’t kill people – PEOPLE DO. This is just another example of democrats vilifying law abiding Americans to strip us of our second Amendment rights. The deaths caused by guns in this country are tragic but we know, the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
