Education Secretary Miguel Cardona appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday, where his remarks raised eyebrows when it came to discussing why families are fleeing public schools in Democrat-run cities.

As the host talked about Secretary Cardona’s lack of substantive answers towards the end of a segment, Margaret Brennan brought up that the Los Angeles School District superintendent told them there are roughly 10 to 20,000 children who are just simply missing.
In spite of Cardona’s acknowledgement that “it’s a concern”, particularly in areas where the pandemic has affected urban centers, where density is higher, he tried to stick to what the administration was supposed to be proud of.
As previously reported by Next News Network, according to the National Homeschooling Education Research Institute, in the spring of 2019, there were only 2.5 million homeschooled children in the U.S. in grades K-12.
Just one year later, in the 2020-2021 school year, that number jumped to 3.7 million. While this jump happened during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the dramatic shift may also be a sign that parents are done with woke curriculums and educational overreach when it comes to their children’s education.
It is time for moms and dads to push back against the leftist classroom agenda. Our children are not pawns to be used in a social experiment, they are our future. We need to demand that our schools provide a safe and productive environment for them to learn in. This means protecting them from violence, teaching them traditional values, and giving them the best education possible.
