With an election months away America’s least favorite governor lifts restrictions, in order to get some boost in polling/
New York state is one of the last states to still have restrictions in place to fight the virus, as many other states removed all restrictions earlier this year, or in the case of Florida barely had any the whole time. Now Hochul announces her lift on restrictions in a last ditch effort to win in November.
Washington Examiner wrote. New York has lifted part of its statewide mask mandate, making it optional to wear face coverings on public transportation and in homeless shelters.
The newly eased restrictions bring New York in line with several other states that lifted their rules requiring face coverings on public transit after a federal judge overturned the federal mask mandate in April. However, New York will retain its mask mandates in some areas, such as hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
New York Governor Kathy NutJob hochul said in a tweet “Starting today, masks will be optional in some places where they had previously been required, including on mass transit,”
Hochul said her decision was based on the “numbers” but her re-election is months away and she desperately needs the points in the polls.
Politico writes. Hochul said her decisions are based on the data, and New York reported a seven-day average of about 19 Covid cases per 100,000 population both statewide and in New York City as of Tuesday — about half of the rates reported just over a month ago.
But while Covid cases have dropped in recent weeks, public health officials have raised concerns that the virus could see a resurgence this fall as it has in previous years.
We have reported heavily on Hochu and her failures, we just hope that the people of New York can see reason and vote for someone who is not a woke extremist.
