President Biden just made an embarrassing admission
According to The Washington Examiner. Despite claiming otherwise multiple times on the campaign trail, Joe Biden admitted Friday that he never got arrested while visiting Nelson Mandela while he was in prison.
On Friday, Biden reflected on his meeting with Mandela during a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the White House. According to Biden, he never got arrested, but rather stopped, which he also admitted in 2020.
Biden’s administration confirmed previously that the president’s claim to have been arrested was false and that he was separated from other congressmen at an airport during a 1976 visit to Lesotho, which borders South Africa. According to the New York Post, another congressman on the trip disputes the correction.
A number of times over the years, Biden has claimed he was arrested when he tried to visit Mandela in the 1970s. In February 2020, while running for president, Biden made this claim during a speech in South Carolina.
