We may soon be able to eat lab-grown meat in the United States!

We Love Trump reports, a company called UPSIDE Foods has been granted pre-market consultation approval by the FDA to make cultured animal cell food by taking living cells from chickens and growing them in a controlled environment.

In its first pre-market consultation, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a human food derived from cultured animal cells, the department announced in a press release.

The FDA added that UPSIDE Foods’ safety conclusion has been evaluated by the agency and no further questions exist at this time.

During FDA’s pre-market consultation with the firm, the agency evaluated its production process and cultured cell material, including setting up cell lines and cell banks, monitoring manufacturing controls, and evaluating all components and inputs.

There is no approval process involved in the voluntary pre-market consultation. As a result of carefully reviewing the data and information shared by the firm, the FDA reported that it does not have any further questions regarding the firm’s safety conclusion at this time.

Interestingly enough, Bill Gates is among the listed investors of UPSIDE Foods.

As anyone who’s been paying attention to the food industry knows, there’s been a growing push for lab-grown meat in recent years. Now, it appears that this “fake meat” may soon be hitting grocery store shelves. UPSIDE Foods has been granted pre-market approval by the FDA to produce cultured animal cell food, meaning that they can take living cells from chickens and grow them in a controlled environment. While this may sound like something out of a science fiction novel, the FDA has determined that this meat is safe for human consumption. While many people are sure to be excited about the prospect of lab-grown meat, there are also some significant drawbacks that should not be ignored. For one thing, this type of meat represents a significant government intrusion into what we eat. Scientists and the government would have the power to manipulate us through the food we consume, and that is a scary prospect. Additionally, lab-grown meat is likely to be significantly more expensive than traditional meat, meaning that many people will simply be unable to afford it. Finally, there is something deeply troubling about the idea of eating meat that has been created in a lab rather than coming from an animal. For those reasons, lab-grown meat is something that should be rejected outright. We should stand up for our right to eat real meat from animals rather than allowing ourselves to be controlled by the government or companies like UPSIDE Foods. Lab-grown meat may be the future, but it’s not something that we should be willing or forced into accepting.
