We’ve been watching the news closely and what we’re hearing is nothing short of shocking. The Democrat-led House Ethics Committee has recently announced that there is an active investigation into New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In this video, we’ll take a closer look at the allegations against the congresswoman as well as how she responded to the committee’s choice for investigation.
A congressional investigation is being conducted into Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the House Ethics Committee announced on Wednesday.
The committee released in a statement, “The Acting Chairwoman and Acting Ranking Member of the Committee on Ethics have jointly decided to extend the matter regarding Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which was transmitted to the Committee by the Office of Congressional Ethics on June 23, 2022.”
It was not revealed why Ocasio-Cortez was being investigated by the committee, according to the Daily Wire.
Ocasio-Cortez’s office responded to the investigation with a statement that read, “The Congresswoman has always taken ethics incredibly seriously, refusing any donations from lobbyists, corporations, or other special interests. We are confident that this matter will be dismissed.”
Several complaints were submitted to the committee last year about Ocasio-Cortez’s attendance at the Met Gala.

It was alleged that Ocasio-Cortez violated rules by accepting free tickets to the event, which would normally be allowed if it was a charity event and tickets were provided by the organizers.
A group that filed the complaint asserted that Ocasio-Cortez shouldn’t have been allowed to accept the ticket for a few reasons, including the fact that “invitations were controlled by a for-profit company” and “tables were similarly sponsored by corporations.”
Second, Ocasio-Cortez was accused of accepting a gift which was not permitted because it was directly related to her “position as a highly visible and controversial Member” in the House. She wore a red dress that read, “Tax The Rich.”
Despite the local news covering the story for a little over 20 seconds, Newsbusters added that all three evening news broadcasts including ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening News & NBC Nightly News ignored this story in an apparent attempt to protect AOC.
The networks decided that local weather reports (ABC), an FDA warning about Lasik surgery (CBS), and another update on the upcoming Netflix special about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were more important stories to cover than this news from the House Committee on Ethics.
Of course, Leftist news networks would have covered this story if Ocasio-Cortez had been a Republican.
The double standards of the Left have been on full display recently with the announcement from the House Ethics Committee that an investigation is being launched against Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Despite no one knowing what crime she has been accused of, Leftist news outlets have ignored this story in an effort to protect her, a courtesy they wouldn’t extend to a Republican lawmaker. We must demand equal justice; this double standard needs to be exposed and addressed. Anything less implies that some lawmakers are above the law. With democracy comes accountability, and anything less should not be accepted by anyone regardless of political affiliation or belief.
